Javier, born in Germany, has crafted a distinctive professional trajectory by drawing upon his diverse background and experiences. Having spent his formative years living between Lima, Peru and Los Angeles, California, Javier gained invaluable insights that contribute to his global perspective.

In 2018, Javier established RFRM Collective—a multidisciplinary architecture firm located in the Los Angeles Arts District. Committed to delivering outstanding design and service, RFRM Collective works diligently to exceed the expectations of their clients and the communities it serves.

Graduating in 2014 from the University of Southern California (USC) with a Bachelor of Architecture degree, he seamlessly combines his international experience with local expertise, serving as the cornerstone of RFRM Collective. Javier's exceptional academic achievements at USC include receiving the prestigious Thomas Byerts Award for his remarkable final degree project, which focused on social and public service. Javier is a registered architect in the state of California.

Throughout his career, Javier has formed close partnerships with city officials, nonprofits, and local stakeholders to bring excellent design to Los Angeles and beyond. His commitment to community enrichment is exemplified by his roles as a Board Member and, subsequently, as President and Land Use Committee Co-Chair of the Los Angeles River Artists and Business Association (LARABA)—an organization dedicated to advocating for artists, businesses, and the Downtown Arts District. Additionally, Javier holds a position on the Board of Directors of the Arts District Community Council LA (ADCCLA), further solidifying his active involvement in shaping and nurturing communities.

DROR RAM, RA

Senior Associate

Dror is an architect who believes that great architecture and design strikes a balance between function and aesthetics. He is drawn to problem solving and views each project as a puzzle with each team member fundamental to discovering the solution. Regardless of project scale, from private residential to retail, schools, offices, and large commercial projects, Dror has brought the same level of care to coordinating the project team and bridging between project constraints and Client desires. As Project Architect Dror will be responsible for supervising the development of all design and architectural plans, including the consultants’ work.

Architect

Since graduating from architecture school in 2014 Samuel has quickly gained experience across a broad range of retail, hospitality, mixed-use, office, and industrial project types. In addition, he has collaborated with a diverse group of clients, and has gained the ability to listen to their needs and desires.  He believes that a successful project requires teamwork between all stakeholders involved in the design and construction process. Furthermore, he believes that the future of architecture must rely on the ability to solve problems with the knowledge of the changing nature of construction, technology, and economy.

 

LAUREN HANNA

Designer

Lauren Hanna is a designer interested in the intersection between architecture and the visual arts. She attended the University of California, Riverside where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Art History with an emphasis on Latin American Art and Architecture. There she developed an understanding of the importance of architectural specificity and how the built-environment should serve as a direct reflection of the communities that make it up. She then went on to pursue her Masters of Architecture I degree at the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc), where she graduated with a Thesis Merit Award and the showcasing of her project at the SCI-Arc Selected Graduate Thesis Show. Alongside this, she is the founder of her own custom jewelry business which has ongoingly collaborated with her local art scene for the past 7 years. Her various interests have manifested themselves in her love for residential architecture where she is able to design at various levels of detail that tell the story of her clients. In her freetime, she loves to craft and do photography.

LUCIANO NANDINO

Designer

Luciano Nandino is a designer from Fontana, California. He has worked in several distinguished firms across Southern California including SGH Architects and TOLO Architecture where he gained experience designing retail and gallery spaces. Luciano attended California State Polytechnic University in Pomona where he received his Bachelor of Architecture, along with several accolades including the outstanding senior project award. Beyond his design work, Luciano’s interests are diverse ranging from literature and comedy to combat sports.
