Fourplex

The ADU program is a critical tool for providing affordable housing. At the same time, it perpetuates tropes of primary and secondary housing types.

The project aims to provide an alternative to these conventional front-yard–rear-yard dwelling patterns, toward a more integrated urban fabric.

The program calls for a duplex and two ADUs on a typical narrow lot (47 × 150 ft). Rather than simply dividing the project into primary and secondary buildings, we propose four compact dwelling units organized around a shared garden structure.
